SME1 - Subject Matter Expert Safety Basics Training Introduction to basic safety requirements, standards, and risks.

Introduces students to basic safety requirements, standards and risks associated with operating machinery. It is intended to help plant personnel identify non-compliant safety issues with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Emergency Stops, Machine Guarding, and Alternative Protective Measures.

 

Contents

  • Lockout/Tagout Requirements & Solutions – students will learn how to identify compliant & non-compliant devices and complete correct LOTO procedures.
  • Emergency Stop Requirements & Solutions – students will learn proper installation and use of E-Stop Devices.
  • Machine Guarding Requirements & Solutions – students will be learn how to identify compliant and non-compliant physical guarding.
  • Alternative Protective Measure Requirements & Solutions – students will learn how to connect and use safety input, logic, and output types to meet Category 3, PL d, or Control Reliable.
