ANSI Valves FAQ

What is an ANSI valve?
A base-mount valve that conforms to the ANSI standard.

How do I convert my ANSI valve to external pilot supply?
See Bulletin 331G "Service and Installation Manual" for instructions.

Can I plug port numbers Y-14 and Y-12 on my ANSI base?
No, these are the pilot exhaust ports.

What do the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mean on my base?
These are port markings.

  • 1 is the inlet or supply port.
  • 2 is an outlet port.
  • 3 is an exhaust port.
  • 4 is an outlet port.
  • 5 is an exhaust port.

How do I order my ANSI Size-1 or -2 valves with lights?
The pilot indicator lights on the ANSI size 1 and 2 are available in the base or manifold. Be sure to order a base or manifold with lights included.

How do I hook up the wires on my ANSI valve?
The ANSI valve has two sets of wires, two are black and two are white. The two black wires go to the control 14 pilot and the two white wires go to the control 12 pilot. If you have a single solenoid valve, you only need the two black wires. This information is also inside the conduit cover of the ANSI base or manifold.
